This is my right up about Treacher Collins syndrome:

30 Points Question: Treacher Collins syndrome is a disorder that causes the ears, eyes, cheekbones, and chin to appear deformed. The severity may be different for different people. Things that could happen include breathing problems, problems seeing, cleft palate, and hearing problems. People who have it usually have normal intelligence. Treacher Collins syndrome cannot be cured. Diagnosis is based on X-rays and possibly genetic testing. Symptoms can be overcome by reconstructive surgery, hearing aids, speech therapy, and other devices.

Treacher Collins syndrome is caused by genetic mutations. Below is an image of the pattern of gene codes of this syndrome.

The percent of the world that has this syndrome is estimated to be between 1 in 10,000-50,000 individuals in the general population. One of the sad things about having a facial deformity is that a person is more likely to get bullied.

Fortunately, people with this condition do have a normal life span, as long as they maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Thank You!
